Merrimac Police to Participate in Regional “Fill-A-Cruiser” Food Drive
MERRIMAC — Chief Eric M. Shears and the Merrimac Police Department invite the community to participate in the Regional Stuff-A-Cruiser food drive this weekend to benefit Our Neighbors’ Table.

WHAT
As the holidays approach, the Merrimac Police Department encourages residents to donate non-perishable items to families in need.
Most wanted items include: tuna, baked beans, meat soups, canned meals, shampoo, soap, deodorant and toothpaste.
All collected items will be given to Our Neighbor’s Table, a nonprofit based in Amesbury that provides assistance to Essex County families in need through their food pantries and meal delivery services.
Donations for Merrimac residents can be made at the Stop & Shop on Macy Street. WNBP Radio (106.1 FM) will be broadcasting live from the store during the drive.
Community members can also make donations to benefit Our Neighbors’ Table at other participating police departments, including Amesbury Police, West Newbury Police and Salisbury Police, as well as at the West Newbury Food Mart (275 Main St.).
“As the holidays draw near, let’s all remember those that could use an extra hand putting food on the table,” Chief Shears said. “I encourage all community members to pick up an additional can at the store, or the back of your pantry, to donate to this great, collaborative cause.”
