Merrimac Police, in collaboration with the Town of Merrimac and Rabbi Asher Bronstein of Chabad Lubavitch of Merrimack Valley, are pleased to share that the department will be hosting a community Menorah Lighting in observance of Hanukkah (Chanukah).
The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 4:30 p.m. During the event, residents and community members can come to the Merrimac Police station, 2 Jana Way, for a lighting and celebration ceremony.
The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Hanukkah will be observed from nightfall on Sunday, Dec. 14, to nightfall on Monday, Dec. 22.
Additionally, Rabbi Bronstein has gifted an automated Menorah to the Town. The automated menorah will be located in the police station parking lot. The automatic menorah will be installed a few days before Hanukkah beginsand will be lit automatically each day of the eight-day holiday.
