Merry Christmas! Once again, the men and women of the Merrimac Police and Fire Departments have the distinct honor of escorting Santa Claus through the streets of town on Christmas Eve! Check the Merrimac Police and Fire Department websites on Sunday afternoon to follow his route LIVE!

WHEN:

Sunday, Dec. 24, starting at 3:30 p.m.

WHERE:

Santa will begin and end his tour at the Fire Station, 16 East Main St., in two shifts.

A GPS tracking device will be temporarily placed on Santa’s sleigh so that community members can follow Santa’s route. The link to track Santa will be posted on the day of the event on the police and fire department websites.

WHAT:

Santa, joined by first responders, will tour all of Merrimac’s streets and greet all the residents young and old. The annual tradition is sponsored by the Police and Fire Departments and the Merrimac Santa Committee.

Santa will come through Merrimac rain or shine, and residents are urged to follow the schedule and to watch and listen for police cars and fire trucks helping Santa make his way through town.

Help the Merrimac Santa Committee:

The Merrimac Santa Committee seeks to raise more than $16,000 annually to fund the annual Christmas parade and to support Santa’s Christmas Eve route through the streets of Merrimac. Your donation of any amount will help keep these traditions in the present format.

Donations are accepted year-round at the Merrimac Light Department or Merrimac Santa Committee, P.O. Box 131, Merrimac, MA 01860.
